My thoughts on the USA Presidential Election
November 9th, 2016
Last night instead of being full of anxiety watching the final stages of the US election process take place, I chose to fall asleep listening to the Tao de Ching and was overwhelmed with inspiration on the part of this beautiful sacred text on leadership. Verse 17 stays:
The greatest type of ruler is one of whose existence
the people are hardly aware.
Next best is a leader who is loved and praised.
Next comes the one who is feared.
The worst is the one who is despised.
When a leader doesn’t trust the people,
they will become untrustworthy.
The best leader speaks little.
He never speaks carelessly.
He works without self interest
and leaves no trace.
When the work is accomplished,
the people say: “Amazing:
we did it all by ourselves.”
At this point, what is done is done and what is, is. I chose to SURRENDER this to The Universe, God, Spirit or whatever you choose to call your higher power and move forward knowing that the universal plan goes beyond elections, goes beyond hatred, goes beyond fear. It is guided by love, compassion and true intelligence.
For me the more important question to focus on is, what kind of leader are you? What kind of energy are you putting out into the world around you. I believe we as citizens of the worldcan make a HUGE positive impact just by watching what we are doing…watching what we are saying…watching over our own moral behaviors. If we all put as much energy into improving ourselves as we put into judging others, we can change the world all around us and within us.
At this time more than even, I challenge you to practice your own leadership and let it be guided by love, compassion and true knowledge. Choose to spread love, joy and hope and see the difference it makes in your world and for those around you.
BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD!
