Doris Martinez, E-RYT 200 Certified Therapeutic Yoga Instructor

Doris began her career in health and fitness in 1980.  Over the past 36 years she has been a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Pilates Instructor, Personal Trainer, Nutrition Counselor, and Master Trainer.  She has been practicing yoga for the last 10 years and completed her Yoga Alliance 200-hour, Forrest Yoga based, teacher training in San Francisco, California.

Forrest Yoga, of all the various types of yoga practices, resonated the most with Doris. Forrest Yoga was created by and named for Ana T. Forrest. It is a modern yoga style based on Hatha yoga and founded on four pillars--Breath, Strength, Integrity, and Spirit. It is known for its long holding positions, abdominal core work, and challenging standing series.

In keeping with the Forrest Yoga Philosophy, Doris hopes to guide you to go deeper to find your truth, and encourage you to take the gifts you have earned on the mat, beyond the mat, and into the rest of your life.

Mamie is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor who moved to Boquete in January, 2016 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her husband Greg and greyhound, Floyd to follow their dreams and opened La Jungla Experience hostel.  Another dream recently fulfilled was completing Yoga Teacher Training as Mamie has been a yoga enthusiast for 20 years and originally sought out yoga to help strengthen, stretch, and heal her body during and after her college basketball years.

She now enjoys teaching a Deep Vinyasa Flow that is suitable for all body types and yoga levels ensuring all students leave the mat feeling strong, stable, and restored.

Susan Saundercook, RYT 200

At the age of eight, Susan declared to an imaginary friend (or some maple trees) that she was going to live someplace that was springtime year-round. In 2008, she moved to Boquete, Panama. She co-owns Boquete Garden Inn, complete with white picket fence, giggling flowers and birds that dress her every morning. In her spare time, she writes and travels. She has practiced yoga since she was a teen in the basement of her stepmom's home, armed with a Rodney Yee VHS tape, bad perm and a strong desire to still her mind through breath and movement.
